    RacingThePlanet returns to Jordan in September 2024 for the first time in about ten years for RacingThePlanet: The 20-Year Race.

    Jordan was the host country for RacingThePlanet Ultramarathons in 2012 and 2014, making it an excellent place to revisit for the 20th Anniversary of RacingThePlanet’s founding. It’s home to over 100,000 archeological sites and one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the treasury at the ancient ruins of Petra. People from around the world visit these sites and the red desert landscape of Wadi Rum each year, but a 6-stage ultramarathon offers a unique way to experience the rich history and beauty of this land in a way beyond the typical experience.

    Mary Gadams, the founder of RacingThePlanet said “Since I first ran a 100 mile race in Jordan decades ago, I knew I would return one day to give others the opportunity to experience such an emotional finish through the narrow walls of Petra. That finish remains one of the fondest memories for me.”
