The 24-year old Marco ran 100 marathons in 100 cities to prove that limits are only in our heads. He wants to inspire people to believe in themselves, to overcome their mental and physical barriers, and to take control of their lives. This challenge is also an opportunity to create a community of people who are not afraid to go further.
He transformed a past of bullying related to his weight into a source of inspiration for others, demonstrating that everyone can become the architect of their own success. His message is clear: “Limits exist only in our heads .” To test himself, Marco began an extraordinary undertaking: running a half marathon every day for 100 consecutive days. This challenge led him to travel 2,300 kilometers, starting from his hometown, Altavilla Vicentina, to Lisbon, Portugal.
But his determination doesn’t stop there. With the strength of his accumulated experience, he has decided to relaunch with a new and even more ambitious goal: to run 100 marathons in 100 Italian cities. A journey through Italy that is not only a sporting challenge, but a symbol of redemption, discipline and passion. Each marathon represents a chapter in his story, an opportunity to share his message with anyone who is ready to overcome their limits.
“Running, with these somewhat crazy goals, made me understand that
to accept yourself you have to work on yourself.
I did it: now I want to help others understand it”
On the one hand, he runs for the child he was, the one who felt inadequate and insecure. On the other, he wants to prove that willpower can break down any barrier and that anyone, with the right mindset, can transform their weaknesses into strengths.
The journey through Italy was an opportunity to meet people, tell his experience and inspire others to take charge of their lives.
Marco’s runs are a tangible example of how determination can change a destiny. Because in the end, as he says, “it doesn’t matter where you start from, but where you decide to arrive.”
Marco suffered from bullying until he finished high school, weighing more than 80 kilos.
“I never felt in place, without understanding that the fat wasn’t the real problem. It was me. Running, with these somewhat crazy goals, made me understand that to accept yourself you have to work on yourself. I did it: now I want to help others understand it.”
After completing his first challenge on October 28, 2024, he wrote on his Instagram:
“These last 100(+2) days have been a journey of growth that goes beyond every mile traveled.
Every day I ran 21 km, and yesterday to finish this route I did 100.
It was exhausting, but every step made me discover something new about myself. My self-esteem has grown with every challenge overcome, every goal achieved, and now I see clearly the path ahead.
This journey has not only made me stronger, but it has also given me vision and concrete, helping me understand where I want to go. Now there are no doubts left. There’s only one thing to do: keep doing.”
