Apeldoorn
Apeldoorn is a beautiful city located in the eastern part of the Netherlands, known for its green spaces, like the Oranjepark and the popular Beekpark, beautiful architecture, and great running opportunities.
The Midwinter Marathon is an annual running event that takes place in February. The event offers several distances, including a full marathon, half marathon, and 10-kilometer race.
Apeldoorn is surrounded by beautiful nature reserves. The Veluwe, which is the largest continuous nature reserve in the Netherlands, includes 2 National Parks, Hoge Veluwe and Veluwezoom, with plenty of running trails and beautiful scenery.
The Kröller-Müller Museum is located at the Hoge Veluwe and hosts almost 90 paintings and more than 180 drawings, of Vincent van Gogh, making it the second largest collection of him in the world. In addition, the museum is home to top works by modern masters including Claude Monet, Georges Seurat, Pablo Picasso and Piet Mondriaan.
Omnisport Apeldoorn is a state-of-the-art velodrome and multisport indoor arena that hosts many national and international track and field events.
The city is also home to several historical landmarks, including the beautiful Het Loo Palace, a former royal palace that is now a museum.
