Run around the World for the Living and the Dying – Andrea Prais
On December 20, 2024, Andrea Prais started her run from the St. Christopher Hospice in London, England, with the goal to return in June/July 2026 after a run around the world!
“At 43, I’m embarking on my most ambitious journey yet—running around the world for causes that matter deeply to me: palliative care, hospice care, and suicide prevention. Running is my passion, a force that inspires and connects people. Through this journey, I hope to share its transformative power every step of the way. Join me and dream big too—let’s make a difference together.”
“Sometimes, the hardest steps are the ones we take when no one is watching. But they matter. Every step, every mile, every conversation—it all adds up to something greater.”
But it’s not about the distance, Andrea says.
“It’s about raising awareness, starting conversations, and proving that no one has to walk their path alone.”
“With a background as a Registered Nurse, car mechanic, and a BA in International Studies, I bring a unique blend of healthcare expertise, technical skills, and global perspective. Guided by curiosity, compassion, and consistency, I embrace challenges and change with enthusiasm. My energy and adaptability drive my dedication to making a meaningful impact wherever I go.”
“Starting in December 2024, I will attempt to run around the world, covering a distance of 16,300 miles (26,232 km). This self-supported journey is expected to take between 555 and 600 days. So far, only eight individuals have successfully completed this feat, meeting the criteria set by the World Runners Association (WRA), which oversees attempts to circumnavigate the Earth on foot.
My goal is to become the 9th person to officially run around the world. (For more information on the World Runners Association and their criteria, please visit: worldrunnersassociation.org).”
“I believe that almost everything is possible if we set our minds to it. Consistency is the key. Join the journey with me and Dream Big Too,” Andrea.
