Run for America – Noah Coughlan
In October 2025, Noah, ultrarunner and filmmaker from Vacaville, CA, began his fifth and final Run across America totaling 5,500 miles across 20 States, a tribute to highlight the American Spirit and stories of the 350 Million American People, meet rare disease families, and interview some of the 70,000 remaining World War II Veterans.
Noah will engage big cities and small towns honoring everyday Americans and veterans, encouraging unity while highlighting the enduring spirit of our Nation through media and storytelling for a renewed appreciation for America’s shared history.
He runs solo with a large American Flag attached to a jogging stroller. Along the way, he is interviewing the American People and Veterans with an urgency on meeting the remaining World War II Veterans. “What does America mean to you?” “What does the American Flag mean to you?”
His efforts are again proving to make a significant impact wherever he goes. Noah has so far met with elected officials, World War II Veterans, spoke to high school and middle school students, news reporters, and highlighted everyday Americans daily.
His Run reminds us all that the American Flag is for all Americans and what Her Stars and Stripes symbolize. Hope, Resilience, Freedom, Liberty, Sacrifice, and Unity in Diversity. “Out of Many, We are One”. – E Pluribus Unum.
Noah has crossed 36 States previously with 14 States remaining. When Noah finishes his final American run on America’s 250th Semiquincentennial birthday on July 4th, 2026 in Hawaii, he will become only the 3rd person ever to have crossed all 50 States on foot.
Noah Coughlan has run across America — four times. He has spent over a decade crossing the country on foot to champion rare disease families and honor America’s veterans.
To complete all 50 States, Coughlan will cross 1,000 miles across Kansas and both Carolinas independently, followed by the 3,500 mile transcontinental coast-to-coast run from the Atlantic Ocean in Maine to the Pacific Ocean at Oregon. With the lower 48 States complete, Coughlan will continue with a 900 mile run from the Arctic Ocean at Prudhoe Bay, Alaska to Anchorage. The momentous effort will culminate on America’s 250th Birthday, July 4, 2026, in Honolulu, Hawaii after running the Hawaiian Islands.
2011 — Age 27 Run 1: San Diego to Jacksonville
2,500 miles solo to raise awareness for Batten Disease — an ultra-rare, fatal brain condition affecting two of his childhood friends.
2013 — Age 29 Run 2: San Francisco to Boston
3,100 miles on a northern route. A simple American flag on his jogging stroller became a symbol of hope for strangers across the country. A WWII veteran named Bernie called on Day 1 and became his wingman for the entire journey.
2015 — Age 31 Run 3: New York City to San Diego
3,000 miles for all 30 million Americans living with rare disease. He joined Congress in Washington D.C. to advocate for the 21st Century Cures Act — and was hit by a car before finishing.
2020 — Age 36 Ireland: 600 miles for rare disease
Running for 300,000 Irish rare disease patients, honoring his Irish grandfather. He finished on St. Patrick’s Day and was one of the last Americans home before Covid-19 closed European borders.
2023 — Age 39 Run 4: Blaine, WA to Fort Lauderdale
3,700 miles to honor American veterans, with a mission to interview WWII veterans before their generation is gone. His father passed away mid-run. He ran 2,000 more miles to the finish — encouraged by the veterans he met along the way.
Noah’s fifth and final run — 5,500 miles across 20 states — will complete all 50 states on foot, a feat only two people have ever achieved. He’ll finish in Hawaii on July 4th, 2026: America’s 250th birthday. A feature documentary follows in 2027.
Noah’s previous Runs reached more than 25 Million people. Noah has run over 14,000 miles, completed over 250 media interviews with TV, radio, newspapers, magazines, online, and abroad in Ireland and Europe.
