“So here we go again, another lockdown.
With Winter upon us and another lockdown, I have decided to take on another running challenge to help Chester Zoo.
I want to bring a smile to Salford and Manchester at the same make a difference, it will certainly be a tough winter for many and I hope this challenge will bring a little joy!
This time around it will be dark mornings and dark early – I am back in the classroom so I’ll be fitting the runs around work.
Challenge Part 1 ( Raised £12,249 )
Every day in June run the half Marathon Distance 13.1 miles
Every day in July run the marathon distance 26.2 miles
August 3rd I run 35 miles Salford Quays to Chester Zoo Approx 35 miles in fancy dress.
Challenge Part 2
Run 10km every day from Nov 7th – 31st Jan in animal costumes.
I have been working with children and young adults with special educational needs for the last 12 years and seeing their enjoyment when we have visited Chester Zoo many times over the years is very special.
From conservation at the zoo with 35,000 animals to helping wildlife organizations across the world to manage the impact of this global crisis, Chester Zoo is determined not to let coronavirus stand in the way of its vital mission. At such a time of crisis and uncertainty for everyone, I have chosen to raise funds for Chester Zoo so they can use it where they need it most and continue to make their mission of preventing extinction a reality and ensure the survival of species for the future. Together, we can act for wildlife!”
Brendan had to fight Corona himself so his challenge ended a bit earlier in January 2021. Fortunately he recovered!
